Updates for April 2024

Easter egg hunts are back! We've started updating the info for this year. Unfortunately MOST wait until the last minute (often just a week before) to publish their dates, times and details. We're updating their information daily as it comes in. We expect pages to be up to date by mid-March.

1. When we CONFIRM an event for 2024, the date will be highlighted in pink, like this passage to make them easy to find as you scroll down the page.
2. Hunts that were held in the past year or 2 but not yet confirmed for this year are in orange.
3. The ones NOT in either orange or pink are more dubious - held in the past but not confirmed in the past few years, so just our best guess! These you must call or email to confirm before you go.

Or use their site search for "Easter". Do let them know you found them here, so they will update us next year. Since many egg hunts do not publish the current year's dates until the very last minute, or simply never respond to email, we may not get their current information, which is why we have links to their websites, Facebook pages and calendars. Besides egg hunts, there are also Easter breakfasts and brunches and Easter parades to watch!

Bay of Plenty (Kawerau, Opotiki, Rotorua, Tauranga, Western Bay of Plenty, Whakatane)

• Katikati Bird Gardens Annual Great Easter Egg Hunt - Easter egg hunt
  263 Walker Road East, Katikati Bay of Plenty, Tauranga, North Island. Phone: 07 549 0912. Event date and time: In previous years, it was held on Easter Sunday or the day before, so it may be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024. Annual (over 15 years) Easter egg hunt at the Katikati Bird Gardens at Aongatete 30 minutes north of Tauranga.  Dozens of coloured balls are hidden around the 10-acre gardens, and at noon the children set out to find one. Different colours for different age groups the children return their ball to the cafe and swap it for a chocolate Easter Egg.  There is a secret number of life like rabbits also placed in the gardens which the children have to find and count. Those who have counted them all correctly enter into a draw for a giant chocolate Bunny Egg which is drawn later in the day. Binky the Easter Egg Bunny will be on hand to help the little ones and for photos

• Railway Land Reserve Giant Easter Egg Hunt - Easter egg hunt
  Pitt Street and Church St, Palmerston North, North Island 4410. Event date and time: In previous years, it was held on Friday before Easter Sunday, so it may be held on Good Friday, March 29, 2024. Directions:  Click here for a map and directions. Hosted by Nightmare Containment and The Amazing Maze. An annual giant Easter egg hunt with 1000’s of eggs hidden every day. Come and help find all those eggs from that cheeky bunny and his friends. Our Easter bunny and friends have been busy building a giant Easter themed garden that will arrive at The Railway Land on Good Friday. A guided path will lead you through a series of mini mazes which have been designed with an Easter theme. Along the way, you will meet many characters, including the Easter bunny.
