Updates for April 2025

Easter will be on Sunday, April 20, 2025, which is later, so the weather should be GREAT! ! We've started updating the info for this year. Unfortunately MOST wait until the last minute (often just a week before) to publish their dates, times and details. We're updating their information daily as it comes in. We expect pages to be up to date by early April. 

1. When we CONFIRM an event for 2025, the date will be highlighted in pink, like this passage to make them easy to find as you scroll down the page.
2. Hunts that were held in the past year or 2 but not yet confirmed for this year are in orange, as always, call or see their website before you go..
3. The ones NOT in either orange or pink are more dubious - held in the past but not confirmed in the past few years, so just our best guess! These you REALLY must call or email to confirm before you go. They may have been discontinued.

Since many egg hunts do not publish the current year's dates until the very last minute, or simply never respond to email, we may not get their current information, which is why we have links to their websites, Facebook pages and calendars. Event date and time: Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025 12 pm to 3 pm.  Annual (over 15 years) Easter egg hunt at the Katikati Bird Gardens at Aongatete 30 minutes north of Tauranga.  Dozens of coloured balls are hidden around the 10-acre gardens, and at noon the children set out to find one. Different colours for different age groups the children return their ball to the cafe and swap it for a chocolate Easter Egg.  There is a secret number of life like rabbits also placed in the gardens which the children have to find and count. Those who have counted them all correctly enter into a draw for a giant chocolate Bunny Egg which is drawn later in the day.
